Leaving the battery on the bike at all times is a netter of battery security. If you park the ebike in an area with risk of being stolen, take the battery with you.

If you leave the battery switched on, it drains with a very little current, so it is recommended to switch it off if you don't want to use the bike for more than half an hour.
